Sri Lanka is moving toward a more digitally connected and transparent economy, with the government emphasizing 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡, 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐌𝐄 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 as part of the 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞.

As part of this transformation, the 𝐈𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐈𝐑𝐃) is expected to introduce an 𝐞-𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 to enhance tax compliance, streamline financial operations, and support businesses in their digital transition. This aligns with Sri Lanka's broader commitment to modernize its tax infrastructure and promote digital innovation across all sectors.

e-Invoicing is set to play a central role in helping Sri Lankan enterprises, suppliers, and government bodies achieve greater transparency, cost efficiency, and automation in their financial workflows.
